Hello fellow CKAN users, we have some news… As you already know, our CKAN team continuously works on enhancing the technology and its environment. In our last blog we talked about what a data portal is and using CKAN to create it. Now let’s talk about improving the experience of it.
If you’re already using a CKAN data portal, you know how important patch releases are for improving the experience of both developers and users. Well, this week there are new patch releases that fix important bugs and security issues. And, what’s even more important, you can easily set them up with our ready to use Docker images. Keitaro Docker images for the new 2.7.9, 2.8.6 and 2.9.1 patch releases are now available on dockerhub.
Our Docker images are now available
If you want to set up a CKAN portal, you can do it easily by using our available Docker images. With our images, you can deploy your CKAN instance on any Cloud provider that offers containerized applications. We’ve also created a setup that allows you to move to a newer version or configure the latest patches with ease.
Our images leverage multistage builds and include the CKAN core and the required extensions to start a CKAN instance. You can then continue extending on it according to your desires.
The developers can use our public images, and anyone who is managing a CKAN portal can easily change the set up and use our images which will enable faster and easier updates and deployments.
If you need any help with your CKAN portal, our team would be happy to help you out. Reach out for a consultation.
